The City of Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department presents the annual Family Campout on Friday, Sept. 17 through Saturday, Sept. 18 at Old Settlers Park.

Come spend the night in Old Settlers Park! You’ll pop your tent around the Lakeview Pavilion, eat dinner, have fun, play games, sit around the campfire eating s’mores, watch a movie in the park and then off to sleep under the stars. Wake up with the sunrise and enjoy breakfast.
Outdoor Expo family activities include fun and educational programs with Texas Parks & Wildlife, Austin Zoo, Pioneer Farms, Portable Adrenaline, SA Outdoors and more!
Registration for the campout is required. Each registered participant will receive two meals (dinner on Friday evening and pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday morning, vegetarian option available if requested by September 14), s’mores and a t-shirt.
What to bring
You will need to provide all of your own camping equipment. We recommend bringing:
- Tent (participants are responsible for setup & take down of tents)
- Sleeping bags
- Flashlight
- Reusable water bottle (water coolers will be available to fill bottles)
- Insect repellent
- Snacks and drinks (No alcohol or glass containers)
- A chair or blanket for campfire and movie
No pets allowed. No electricity available. No shower facilities. Personal campfires are not allowed.

Saturday, September 19th
6:30-9am: Pancake & Sausage Breakfast
7:30am Equipment Pickup Begins
This event will be held rain or shine unless extremely dangerous conditions exist. No refunds will be given.
Kona Ice will be onsite Friday evening selling shaved ice ($3-$5) and a coffee vendor will be onsite Saturday morning selling coffee and various hot & cold beverages ($2-$7).
Tent Decorating Contest
There will be a tent decorating contest Friday evening so bring your most creative stuff to ‘spruce’ up your tent. Prizes will be awarded to the most creatively decorated tents (1st-3rd place).
