Mother’s Day Weekend for the win!

Much like the NFL, Mother’s Day isn’t just for Sunday anymore! What better way to make mom feel special this year than to celebrate her all weekend long? We’re here to help with this game plan just for Mother’s Day 2019, but don’t forget the flowers!

Saturday, May 11

Kick off the day with brunch at URBAN Eat.Drink in historic Downtown Round Rock. Their menu has a wide variety of brunchy deliciousness including Big Bird & A Flapjack – fried chicken, a pancake and a side of fruit. Or if mom’s an early riser, The Rock Sports Bar’s brunch starts at 9 a.m. and serves up Texas classics like huevos rancheros, migas and of course tacos!

Brunch is best followed by some well-deserved pampering at a downtown spa. Breeze Salon + Spa offers every treatment a mom could wish for, from massages and facials to makeovers and manicures, mom will love the time to rest and refresh. Just down the road you’ll find Bliss Salon and Med Spa where the menu of services covers everything from haircuts and highlights to anti-aging beauty treatments. Make sure to call ahead for your appointments!

With mom feeling relaxed and renewed, stop by the Dia de las Madres event at Prete Plaza in Downtown Round Rock. The shows include a wide variety of performers – dancers, musicians, singers and more from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

After the show, head north to get your free Mother’s Day photo taken at Bass Pro Shops from 12-5 p.m., and make a stop at Farmer George Farmers Market while you’re in the neighborhood.

Wrap up the day rooting for the Round Rock Express as they take on the Oklahoma City Dodgers at 7:05 p.m. at Dell Diamond.

Sunday, May 12

Fuel up for the main event at Fuego Latino Gastropub or Ajo downtown. Ajo’s menu features adventurous plates like Rabbit & Eggs, and also offers something for the more conservative eater like Biscuits & Gravy. If trying a little bit of everything is more mom’s speed, Fuego Latino’s brunch is buffet-style, showcasing Chef Jorge Alcocer’s 25+ years of experience in the industry.

Shopping is a sport in Round Rock, and you’re sure to win mom over at the Round Rock Premium Outlets with some retail games. Whether she needs a new bag, fun kitchen accessories, perfume or athletic gear, the Outlets won’t disappoint.

If you missed the free photos at Bass Pro Shops on Saturday, they’re also offering the same fantastic deal Sunday from 12-4 p.m. and are conveniently located north, across the street from the Round Rock Premium Outlets.

For all the crafty moms out there, reserve your spot at Mommies & Mimosas, a craft workshop hosted at Toast + Timber here in Round Rock from 1-4 p.m. Supplies and mimosas provided – all mom needs to bring is her creativity!

If mom prefers scorecards to scrapbooks, head out to Dell Diamond for a Sunday afternoon game as the Express’ series against the Oklahoma City Dodgers continues at 1:05 p.m.
