While there\, they both enlisted in the U.S. Army as a husband-and-wife team. Together\, they have two children\, Alan a wounded combat veteran and Christy\, a businessperson with Underwriters Laboratory. \nAfter his enlistment in the Army\, Alain pursued a career in law enforcement\, spanning thirty-four years. He served with three different departments in California and Texas. His final twenty-five years were dedicated to the Round Rock Police Department\, where he climbed the ranks and retired as an Assistant Chief of Police in 2019. \nThroughout his career\, Alain has been actively involved in various volunteer organizations. He has supported veterans’ organizations\, the Police Special Olympics\, and Stephanie Myers car shows\, all of which raise funds for local charities. Currently\, he serves as a Director with the Lakeway Police Foundation and the Lakeway Civic Corporation. \nAlain also holds a Master of Science degree from Sam Houston State University and is a graduate of the National FBI Academy.

DESCRIPTION:The City of Round Rock’s Parks and Recreation Department presents the 13th annual Family Campout on Friday\, Sept. 12th through Saturday\, Sept. 13th at Old Settlers Park. \nCome spend the night in Old Settlers Park! You’ll pop your tent in the park\, eat dinner\, have fun\, play games\, sit around the campfire eating s’mores\, watch a movie in the park\, and then off to sleep under the stars. Wake up with the sunrise and enjoy breakfast. \n\nCLICK HERE to Register! \nEarly Registration fee is $10 per camper.\nRegistration for the campout is required. Registration fee will increase to $15 on September 1. \nRegistration for the campout is required. Each registered participant will receive two meals (dinner on Friday evening and pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday morning\, vegetarian option available upon early request)\, s’mores and a t-shirt. \n\nWhat to Bring:\nParticipants are responsible providing all of their own camping equipment\, as well as setup and take down of tents. \nWe recommend bringing: \n\nTent (participants are responsible for setup & take down of tents)\nSleeping bags\nFlashlight\nReusable water bottle (water coolers will be available to fill bottles)\nInsect repellent\nSnacks and drinks (No alcohol or glass containers)\nA chair or blanket for campfire and movie\n\nNo pets allowed.
