The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

MAD Productions presents a production of C.S. Lewis’ classic tale this holiday season. This new dramatization, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. Check local showtimes and bring the entire family on an exciting theater adventure!

Beaujolais Nights

Partaking in tradition nearly 70 years old, Round Rock will crack open the first bottles from this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau harvest at the same time as the rest of the world – on the Third Thursday of November. Everyone 21 and older is welcome to join in the free fun by uncorking this unfussy French wine under the twinkling stars at this live jazz soirée with food, music, wine and good times with friends, old and new.

This beloved free show has charmed the young and the young at heart for almost a decade with its fun and festive model trains. The organization behind this popular event is the Tinplate Trackers of Austin, an area O-Gauge Model Train Club dedicated to the “World’s Greatest Hobby.”

It’s a Wonderful Life Radiocast

Back by popular demand, Penfold Theatre Company presents “It’s a Wonderful Life Radiocast.” The show draws audience members back in time to 1946 as members of the KPNF radio station are assembling for a live radio performance of It’s a Wonderful Life. Through dozens of characterizations and live foley sound effects, five talented actors tell the entire story, putting an imaginative twist on a cherished holiday tradition.

Miracle on 34th Street Radio Play

The first broadcast at the Lux Radio Theatre December 22, 1947, “Miracle On 34th Street” is the story of the real Santa Claus, who goes to work at Macy’s toy department. The story begins on Thanksgiving day in New York City as the annual Parade given by Macy’s department store gets underway to herald in the Christmas season. Away from the crowd are two of the store’s public relations staff pleased with the Santa they have employed – the best Santa in Macy’s history.

In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids–probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!

Each holiday season, Downtown Round Rock dazzles visitors with a spectacular display of sparkling holiday lights, larger than life ornaments, gorgeous oversized gift boxes, and twinkling archways. Beginning at nightfall, families are invited to explore the historic downtown streets while enjoying picturesque holiday decor. The event is free and open to public nightly through the month of December.

Christmas Family Night

A festive Round Rock tradition, Downtown Family Night offers fun holiday activities for the entire family including live music, dancers, candle making, game booths, Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus and more. Mayor Craig Morgan and Santa will kick off the evening at the Main Stage located near the intersection of Mays and Main St., followed by the illumination of the Hometown Holiday lights. Children should bring their “wish lists” for Santa Claus and parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras for pictures with Santa. Plus, enjoy free hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate, and other refreshments.
