11 Indoor Kid-Friendly Activities in Round Rock, TX

We have a saying in Texas. “If you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes.” The weather has a mind of its own and is prone to change from time to time. We know when you’re on vacation with the kiddos; you want an entertaining plan so things don’t go awry. That’s why we compiled a weather-proof list of kid-friendly activities for you to utilize no matter what the meteorologist predicts.

1.) Kalahari Resorts and Conventions

Kalahari is an indoor African safari adventureland. It offers electrifying experiences all under one roof. The main attraction is their 223,000 sq ft indoor water park with exhilarating water slides, oscillating funnels, a lazy river, a wave pool, and a kiddie pool area. For more amusement, they have Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park, which includes thrill rides, 250+ arcade games, a ropes course, climbing walls, an indoor zipline, bowling, laser tag, and a mini-golf course! 

2.) Uncle Bucks Underwater Bowling

Your youngsters will be happy as clams after bowling at Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl and Grill inside Bass Pro Shops. Every detail in this space is assembled to immerse you in the big blue. From the lighting to the ocean creatures, it feels like you’re swimming underwater. You and your kids can bowl a perfect 300-game, chow down on island-themed cuisine, and play the night away in their arcade area.

3.) Monster Mini Golf

Tame your little monsters by getting their energy out at the Round Rock Monster Mini Golf and Laser Tag. This monster-themed facility has luminescent blacklight with “living animated art” throughout. There is an 18-hole mini-golf course, laser tag, a maze, and a video game arcade.

Do you have a mini Michelangelo or Van Gogh on your hands? Set their creativity free at the Ceramic Lodge! Kids can create a ceramic masterpiece or take a clay-building class. Walk-ins are welcome, and they can ship the artwork home to you!

5.) Bass Pro Shops

You don’t need to brave the outdoors with the kiddos; wander into the (indoor) woods at the Bass Pro Shops! This 120,000-square-foot outdoor apparel store is a sight to see and will wow your little ones. They have an antique store, aquarium, attached restaurant, bowling alley, and artwork. The shop also offers education, entertainment, and outdoor apparel for the whole family!

6.) Rogues Comics

Activate your child’s imagination with a trip to Rogues Comics! They have shelves stuffed with comic book collections, board games, and cards. It’s the ideal spot to spend the afternoon perusing through comics and games at Rogues Comics.

7.) Round Rock Library

Our new library is a top kid-friendly destination! The 66,000-square-foot space has three floors, a children’s storytime space, a rooftop garden, and a courtyard. There is a floor dedicated to kids with oodles of activities and year-round events for your youngster.

8.) Altitude Trampoline Park

We also have tournaments year-round, so there might be a sport you would like to spectate during your stay!

11.) IKEA

Ok, we may have added Ikea to the list to ensure parents have fun as well, but we think Ikea is an exciting place to bring the kiddos! The showrooms are a spectacle, and there is a special kids’ section with toys aplenty!
