Juneteenth Celebration in Round Rock, TX

Juneteenth, or “Freedom Day,” is the oldest nationally recognized day commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. This celebration originated in Galveston, Texas when federal troops arrived in 1865 to ensure that enslaved people were free. From then on, the observance of June 19th as African American Emancipation Day spread across the United States and is still honored today. In Round Rock, Texas, we celebrate this important day with a Juneteenth Festival with live music, food, and educational opportunities.

The City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the 14th annual Juneteenth Festival this year on June 18th from 4 pm-11:30 pm with a free Texas-sized celebration! They will join forces with Voice Inc., a Non Profit that empowers family connection and community involvement. The 2022 Juneteenth headliners will be Hip Hop Duo Kid N Play, International star VEDO, and The singer, and they are bringing back DJ Jay Shale’ to perform once again.
