When you’re hankering for a hamburger, look no further than these local players to satisfy the cravings only a burger can tackle! From unique flavor combos to veggie burgers to down home diners, Round Rock has your bases covered. Read on for seven must-try Central Texas favorites!
Salt Traders Coastal Cooking
It might seem counterintuitive to order a burger at a restaurant known for seafood-centric fare, but Salt Traders Coastal Cooking knocks it out of the park with The Jack Stack Burger. It’s the stuff burger dreams are made of – soft bun, harissa mayo, bread and butter pickles, and bacon. You can get fish next week. Maybe.
High Country Market
Hold on to your hats, we’re about to tell you to eat a burger at a gas station. But High Country Market is not your run-of-the-mill fuel stop – it’s also home to some of Round Rock locals’ favorite burgers. Try the Wagyu Burger, an 8-ounce Akaushi beef patty with grilled onions, steak-soy sauce, double cheese and High Country’s special sauce on a fresh-baked pretzel bun.
Hat Creek Burger Company
When you want to spice things up a bit, head to Hat Creek and order a large drink to cool down after you try the Sombrero, a double-patty burger with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, grilled onions and Yellowbird Hot Sauce. We recommend starting off by sending the kids to their awesome playscape, ordering some fried pickles, and relaxing.
Hopdoddy Burger Bar
Pescatarians, vegans, vegetarians, and everyone in between, rejoice! Hopdoddy has a burger for you. From the Ahi Tuna, to the Impossible Burger, to the Thunderbird, there’s something for every palate and diet on the spectrum. And for the queso-tarians, might we recommend the Green Chile Queso Fries? You won’t regret it.
Mighty Fine
Can’t make up your mind with all of these tasty options to choose from? Mighty Fine makes it easy and delicious with a simplified burger menu – ½ pound or ¼ pound. Central Texas-born, Mighty Fine does burgers and does them right! After you select your burger size, the only question is “Fries or no fries?” (Go Round Rock pro tip: The answer is always “Fries.”)
We checked, and not every day is a burger day. Looking for more restaurants? Check out the Go Round Rock Dining pages for an extensive listing of Round Rock establishments.
