The $550 million resort brings much-needed tourism dollars and hospitality jobs to the area and offers a welcome getaway for locals and travelers.”
As soon as you drive up to the property, you are immediately transported to another continent! Every detail is selected to give you an authentic African experience with a local Texas spirit. At the entrance of the resort, there are 22-life sized animal sculptures that bring the African safari to life. Throughout the building, there are 1,000 pieces of African art, furniture, and retail items hand-picked by the Nelson family during their last trip to South Africa, Ghana, and Tanzania. These exquisite details create a luxurious world-away ambiance.
Everything is bigger in Texas, so of course, we had to have America’s Largest Indoor Water Park! This 223,000 square foot water park is packed with entertainment for the whole family. They have 30 waterslides, 20 pools and whirlpools, a wave pool, an adult swim-up bar, private cabanas, a waterfall, and a kiddie pool area. For more amusement, they have the Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park, which includes thrill rides, 250+ arcade games, ropes course, climbing walls, indoor zipline, bowling, laser tag, and a mini-golf course!
On the other side of the property is the expansive convention and event space. This multifunctional space is the ideal venue for meetings and conventions, weddings, and special events! It includes two ballrooms, 16 meeting rooms, and multiple hospitality suites with flexible space. Additionally, there is an outdoor event space that consists of an event barn, covered terraces, and a grassy lawn. The convention and event space offers a unique all-under-one-roof experience so guests can maximize their time and enjoy their event or bleisure trip!
The dining at Kalahari is world-class, and the options are endless! From grabbing a quick bite to sitting down for a family meal there is something for everyone. There are 20 dining outlets, including Kalahari’s signature steakhouse, Italian and Tex-Mex experiences, and many grab-and-go options.

- Double Cut Charcoal Grill/Bourbon Bar – Featuring premium cuts of meat, craft cocktails, family-style sides.
- Sortino’s Italian Kitchen – Includes Pizzeria Sortino, Sortino’s Cafe & Gelato, and Enoteca wine lounge.
- Cinco Niños – Modern Mexican and a tequila bar.
- B-Lux Grill & Bar – Custom burgers and shakes hand crafted from scratch with fresh ingredients that are locally sourced.
