Lupe Tortilla, an authentic, Tex-Mex institution, announces the opening of its 22nd restaurant in Round Rock. Located at 240 Bass Pro Drive, the new Lupe Tortilla is conveniently situated between I-35 and N. Mays Street near major retailers such as Cavender’s, Bass Pro Shop and Round Rock Premium Outlets.
From humble beginnings, the original Lupe Tortilla opened its doors in 1983, situated in a 1940’s frame house in the outskirts of Houston. After growing up in the business and watching their father successfully nurture the first location, Judson and Peter joined the family business in 1997 upon graduation from the Culinary Institute of America. Today, Lupe Tortilla carries that same family-operated mentality in overseeing their 1,600 (and growing) employees. The brothers and their talented corporate team work passionately to cultivate a fun, welcoming atmosphere where staff and customers always come first with the fresh, high-quality, authentic Tex-Mex served in over 20 locations throughout Texas.
Even now with over 20 locations, food is made to order –limes are squeezed by hand, refried beans are made in small batches, guacamole is made multiple times daily from whole fresh avocados and their famous tortillas are hand rolled and individually pressed. Owners Judson and Peter Holt focus on staying loyal to who they are and maintaining integrity in their locations, food and atmosphere. Lupe Tortilla strives to provide customers with the best food for the best price.
