On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, guest speaker Bob O’Dell will share the story of the Tonkawa, the only federally recognized Indigenous tribe with origins in Central Texas. His presentation will examine how the Tonkawa first viewed this land, its earliest settlers, and how the tribe sees Round Rock today.

Bob O’Dell is the writer and producer of the upcoming documentary film, Tonkawa They All Stay Together. A former high-tech entrepreneur turned writer and filmmaker, he focuses on stories that connect communities while highlighting overlooked history.
Since 2020, O’Dell has researched the Tonkawa extensively. He has also assembled one of the largest private collections of historical resources about the tribe. As a result, attendees will gain unique insights into the Tonkawa’s history, culture, and enduring connection to Central Texas.
