It’s sasquatch, it’s bigfoot, it’s the Round Rock Hairy Men! Baseball season is finally “hair,” and we have a new team at the Dell Diamond! Come cheer on the Round Rock Hairy Men at the ballpark this summer. The season is in full swing, so make sure to get your tickets soon.
The Round Rock Hairy Men are a Texas Collegiate League (TCL) expansion team consisting of college baseball players primarily from central Texas. They will play 30 games in total, and 15 of those will be played at Dell Diamond. They will play against ten other TCL teams throughout the season. The Hairy Men got their unique name from a Round Rock tale that dates back to the 1800s. Legend has it that a young pioneer boy fell off a settler’s wagon on a road near Brushy Creek. This boy lived amongst the animals in the woods of Round Rock and was known to have notoriously long shaggy hair. The Round Rock hairy man would chase and terrorize anyone that came near his territory. He is said to still haunt Hairy Man Road in Round Rock to this day, so be aware when you visit!
