The National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC), the governing body of the $8.96 billion sports events industry, honored individuals and organizations for their leadership and creativity in attracting and marketing sports events last week.
The Round Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau won Marketing Campaign of the Year, having its “Play Inside” campaign recognized at the NASC annual conference in Milwaukee on April 30!
“It’s an honor to be acknowledged for this,” says Nancy Yawn, who, as the Director of Round Rock’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, was there to accept the award, along with Events Manager Alan Bradley. “Round Rock is growing, and we love that more and more people are aware of the events and fun we offer not just local residents but athletes and families nationwide!”
Industry professionals honored by the NASC included Don Staley, the Executive Director of Foley Sports Tourism Complex, as the Sports Tourism Executive of the Year; Tammy Dunn, CSEE, the Sports Marketing Manager of Snohomish County Sports Commission, who received the Game Changer Award; and RB Thomas, Jr., the Executive Director of the International Senior Softball Association, who was named the Sports Event Organizer of the Year.
