Nutty Brown owners announce concert lineup for new Round Rock venue

The owners and operators of iconic Hill Country venue Nutty Brown Amphitheatre have announced the initial concert and event dates for their new venue in Round Rock. The new amphitheater, Round Rock Amp, will feature a wider range of genres beyond the country and rock acts Nutty Brown was known for, with an opening lineup that spans food festivals to rap and hip hop.

“The opening of Round Rock Amp will bring more first-class entertainment to town,” said Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan. “We look forward to this new venue attracting great artists to our community, and the additional benefits it will provide for our citizens.”

The 18-acre parcel where Round Rock Amp is being constructed is located at the former McNeil Park along IH-35, south of the University Oaks Shopping Center. It includes a convertible general admission area and reserved seating to accommodate many types of events, including concerts, festivals and community events.

The owners and operators of Nutty Brown Café and Amphitheater first announced plans to relocate to Round Rock in 2015

On April 12, 2018, the City Council approved an economic development agreement with TOTKN, which will invest $10 million and employ 40 in Round Rock. The City will reimburse a percentage of the project’s property taxes over five years and waive up to $30,000 in development fees for the project. The City has also committed to making road improvements in an effort to create better access to the site.
