The Ultimate Spring Bucket List

Ditch your winter blues and head to Texas! Spring is in full bloom in Round Rock; the weather is warm, flowers have blossomed, and our city is buzzing with activities. We curated a bucket list so you can seize the season and bask in springtime. Let’s give spring a warm welcome!

1.) Make a Splash at Kalahari- We know the kiddos will be begging to go to Kalahari this Spring Break, so make their dreams come true and stay the night or get a water pass for the day. Hooray!

2.) Watch a game at Dell Diamond- One of the main reasons we love spring so much is it means baseball season begins! We relish the moment we are in the stands with popcorn in hand and the game unfolding. Enjoy America’s favorite pastime at Dell Diamond this Spring!

3.) See the newly opened library- Be a bookworm and dig into a good book at our newly opened Round Rock Library. This new state-of-the-art library is a destination and an ideal place to bring the kids for some educational fun.

4.) Play at Old Settlers Park- If you’ve never played disc golf or checked out the playgrounds at Old Settlers Park, now is the time to (disc)over it! It is an exhilarating sport, and the 18-hole course at Old Settler’s Park is top-notch.

5.) Round Rock Honey Tour- Bee happy it’s springtime, and the bees have been busy. We have a local brand of honey that is buzz-worthy called Round Rock Honey. In addition to having delicious honey, they offer beekeeping classes and tours so you can view honey-making behind the scenes.

6.) Create springtime artwork- Need to revitalize your space with new artwork? Create a spring-themed masterpiece at Ceramic Lodge or Painting with a Twist. Display your new artwork to give your house a fresh feeling!

7.) Celebrate Pi Day at Papi’s Pie (3/14)- We have 3.14 reasons why we love Papi’s Pie 1.) Their Cherry Pie is divine and was recognized by Eat This, Not That  2.) The owners are so kind and inviting. 3.) The atmosphere is artistic and whimsical…. our list could go on and on!

8.) Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Cork & Barrel- Jig on over to Cork & Barrel for St. Patrick’s Day this March 17th. It’s the place to be! Grab your favorite leprechauns and celebrate a day filled with the Irish spirit.

9.) Go on a self-guided history tour- Meander through downtown and travel back in time. We have historic architecture and sculptures with a rich history. Click here for a complete guide.

10.) Stroll through our trails- Spring into action on our expanding trail system. It weaves through 20 miles of beautiful terrain in Round Rock. Whether you’re cycling, jogging, or taking a leisurely stroll, our trails are tailor-made for the season!

11.) Taste craft beer at Bluebonnet Beer- Need a beer break after all the Spring Break madness? Sip a craft beer at Bluebonnet Brewery and enjoy a slow spring day.

12.) Go Golfing- Fore-get your winter blues at the golf courses this spring! We have rolling hills and fresh greens for you to enjoy!

13.) Picnic at Old Settler’s Park- Spread out a blanket and enjoy a spread at Old Settlers Park. This park is a picturesque location for a picnic with friends and family.

14.) Get your bluebonnet photo- If you’re new to Texas, you’ll find out shortly that bluebonnets are a big deal here, and getting a bluebonnet photo is a must-do bucket list item. It’s a spring staple and is basically a cultural experience! Get lost in a sea of bluebonnets at our parks during your visit.

15.) Play for All Abilities Park- Let your little one venture into a new world at our Play for All Abilities park! This park is designed for kids of all abilities and has a life skills village!

16.) Dine Alfresco- It’s patio season! Time to embrace it out on a patio in Round Rock. We have plenty of spots where you can dine in the sunshine.

17.) Shop a Farmers Market- Shop for fresh seasonal produce at the Round Rock Farmers Market or the Amatuli Farmers Market. It’s an ideal time for fresh fruit and veggies.

18.) Round Rock Car Show- It’s time to put the top down and cruise throughout town to the Round Rock Car Show. They have one every 3rd Sunday of the month, 10 am-1 pm!

19.) Birdwatching from the Ruby Patio- Watch birds on the patio at The Ruby Hotel or watch your drink get lower and lower. Either way, both options are the perfect way to spend a splendid spring day.

20.) Sip a wine at Swallow Wine- This new spot is perfect for the wine lover in your life! Sip a seasonal wine and enjoy a lovely spring day. Swallow Wine is a grape escape!

21.) See a Concert at the Round Rock Amp- Outdoor concert season is upon us, and it’s time to sing into spring. Round Rock Amp is an outdoor amphitheater that has major headliners and plenty of dancing space!

22.) Try wacky soda flavors at 3-Star Candy- Have you ever tried bacon or pickle-flavored soda? Well, now is your time to try it at the 3-Star Candy Shop! Do something daring and check it off of your springtime bucket list.

23.) Relax outside at Backporch Social- The best spot to be this spring is on the porch at Backporch Social! This is the ultimate spring break hangout spot with carnival food, drinks, games, and outdoor seating!

24.) Visit our food trucks- Did you know Round Rock has a food truck scene? We are neighbors to the food truck-loving city of Austin, so we had to have some of our own. The trucks are scattered throughout the city, but some are at the Premium Outlets, like Galambos Family Hungarian Food Truck! Soak up the warm air while enjoying a freshly made meal.

25.) Skate at the Shaylah Drame Skate Park- Skate into spring at the Shaylah Drame Skate Park! It’s 14,000 square feet of skating paradise with a bowl and street section. Best part? Admission is totally free!

27.) Get a homemade scoop of ice cream at Best Scoops- We think it’s ice cream season year-round, but now that it’s warmer, we’re in the mood! Best Scoops in Round Rock whips up homemade ice cream that will have you drooling.

28.) Get a new spring wardrobe- Purchase some pastels for spring! This season is all about changes, so maybe it’s time to donate your old clothes and revamp your wardrobe. Luckily, we have local boutiques that will make being a trendsetter easy!
